My family are most important in my life(like all moms I'm sure). Being a mom of 3 boys keeps me busy and with summer approaching, we have decided for our 3rd year living in the low country, we are going to make more use of our beaches.
I had heard about the boneyard beach from a fantastic amateur photographer, and with memorial weekend and an unplanned Monday, we decided late in the afternoon to go and check it out.
The drive from Summerville to Edisto Island is a very pretty one. It took us about an hour(generous) and we were delighted to find a hidden gem.
The 1/2 mile walk to the beach itself has beautiful marshes on either side, a ton of wildlife and a feeling of being remote.
The beach is beautiful! You are not allowed to take home any of the shells or fossils and there is drift wood everywhere. It truly is breathtaking!!
I hadnt expected it to look so beautiful, and just like the beach, the photos I have put up of my children are of them natural, in the sand, water, playing with sticks, climbing trees and unposed!
